Terms of Service

1. The service

BukkaFood is a platform that connects customers, restaurant vendors and independent delivery riders. Vendors prepare the food and are responsible for its quality and safety. Riders are independent partners who deliver orders. We provide the technology that connects you.

2. Accounts and roles

• You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information.
• You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login details private.
• One person may hold more than one role (customer, vendor, rider). Each role is created separately and explicitly, and each is subject to its own requirements and approval.
• Vendor and rider accounts may require verification and approval before they can operate.

3. Orders and pricing

Menu prices are set by vendors. Delivery fees are calculated from the delivery distance and shown before you pay. Delivery is available only within our supported distance range. You are responsible for entering a correct delivery address and contact number.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by our payment partner Paystack. By paying, you confirm you are authorised to use the chosen payment method. Fees and totals are displayed before you confirm your order. We may refuse or cancel orders that appear fraudulent or abusive.

5. Cancellations and refunds

If a vendor declines your order, or you cancel before the vendor accepts it, you will be refunded in full to the original payment method or wallet as shown at checkout. Once a vendor has accepted an order, it can no longer be cancelled by the customer. Refunds to a bank account depend on the payment provider and can take several working days. If an order is wrong or not delivered, contact support and we will review it.

6. Delivery

Delivery times are estimates. A delivery code may be required to hand over your order, and you should share it only with the rider assigned to your order. If no one is available to receive the order at the address given, the order may be treated as delivered.

7. Vendors and riders

• Vendors must keep menus, prices and availability accurate, prepare orders promptly and follow food safety laws.
• Riders must follow traffic laws, handle orders with care and complete accepted deliveries.
• Late handovers, late deliveries and post-acceptance cancellations may result in fines as shown in the vendor and rider dashboards.
• Earnings and payouts are subject to the balances shown in your wallet and to verification of your payout account.

8. Acceptable use

• Do not use the platform for fraud, fake orders, self-dealing, abuse of promotions or any unlawful activity.
• Do not harass vendors, riders, customers or our staff.
• Do not attempt to bypass security, access other accounts or interfere with the platform.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or put others at risk. Suspension of one role does not automatically affect your other roles unless the reason applies to them. You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The platform is provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, BukkaFood is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of vendors and riders as independent parties. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Lagos State unless the law requires otherwise.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
